![]() I think the only thing that we can do right now is wait until Creative comes out with a driver update that won't pooch the sound! Obviously there are some bugs to fix for them right now, and yes it is a big inconvenience to all of us, especially since we have paid good money for great machines, but this sound card problem is really getting on my nerves as I sure it is with all of you too. Once I have done that my sound is back and everything is working normally until the sound conks out again and I have to restart my machine once if not several times to get it working again. I have had to revert the PC back to a state before the Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di update. But whatever you do, do not update the driver right now! each time that I have upgraded the driver the sound is permanently gone, and none on the jacks will work either. "From what I have found it is hit and miss with the original audio driver. I have quoted my post on the other forum page: Here is a link to the page discussing the audio problem I was having before. I am starting to think that there is a loose connection in the machine between the hardware or the machine itself is corrupt in some way. I have even attempted reverting the device back to a previous state. I have also tried to reinstall the driver several times, but I am still getting the same results "No Audio Output Device Installed". Normally restarting would fix the problem, but it is not working this time. I have been having problems with my audio driver on my M14x R2 since december of 2012. 15 minutes later it said that the new device and the drivers were installed and botta bing botta boom I had sound again with no "(x)" on my speakers. My computer recognized right away that it needed audio devices and went on installing them using the updated drivers. I then went into system devices and deleted the High Definition Audio controller.ģ) I installed the new audio drivers on my computer under the *repair* option.Ĥ) restarted my computer as it requested then played the waiting game when it came back up. It was really my only other option anyway (as told to me by a dell help).ġ) I went to dell support and downloaded the newest sound card update based on my service tag.Ģ) I went to my device manager and uninstalled everything under the sound menu (2 things really). Finally I thought that I would just do what I think won't break my computer and if it doesn't work then a full restore would have to be done. Unfortunately for all of us Dell users, that is not an option. Apparently the quick fix is to go to the computer's BIOs and turn on the onboard audio. I told them it is impossible that the USB would transmit sound if the audio card was bad and that the ports used to work.Īfter trolling the forums of distressed and confused users like myself I did just about every thing that was asked of me. All the dell reps said it was a bad motherboard and that I had to send it in. In doing so I would get the little (X) over my speaker icon when I did not have them plugged in. I was using USB headphone and my magicjack in my Mx14R2 computer. ![]() With that disclaimer out of the way here is what caused my issue, what I am pretty sure is behind the problem, and how I was able to fix MY problem. HOWEVER please note that the one on the last link is as always only a reference driver and you should as explained there, use the one from the computer manufacturer.Įdited by Macboatmaster, 21 March 2013 - 09:06 PM.I am not a tech guru nor do I think this will solve the problem every time. If that driver does not work for the Nvidia try this one from Nvidiaĭriver is here but you will have to set to required 600m series and O/S When that has completed reboot again and uninstall theĬreative Sound Blaster Recon3Di High-Definition 5.1 Audio with THX TruStudio Pro Software(Standard)ħ.1 Digital Audio out using HDMI out connection.ĭo not allow windows 8 to install the drivers on the found new hardware - you take control and install them.Īfter the sound driver reboot again and recheck the audio situation. REBOOT and then follow instructions for installing new driver - basically expand file you saved and simply click as directed. Go device manager, right click and uninstall the drivers for the Nvidia 650M ![]() ON that SITE ONLY disable your anti-virus and firewall - some AV`s and Firewalls - are good at causing problems with driver downloads and installations, they MAY corrupt the filesĭownload the drivers - save them. ![]()
